This Privacy Policy explains how PlaceSnap ("we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our mobile apps and website (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

Information we collect

  • Account data: name, email or phone, profile info (bio, interests, languages), photos, preferences.
  • Location data: coarse and/or precise location to show nearby places and people; approximate distance; geohash.
  • Device and app data: device model, OS, app version, language, timezone, push token (for notifications).
  • Usage data: actions in the app (e.g., check‑ins, messages you send), crash logs, diagnostics.
  • Payment data: processed by our providers (e.g., Stripe, Apple/Google). We store non‑sensitive metadata like purchase IDs and plan type; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Support data: content you send to support.

How we use information

  • Provide and improve the Service, including discovery, events, messaging, and safety features.
  • Personalize content and recommendations (e.g., nearby places and filters).
  • Process payments and subscriptions, and manage entitlements.
  • Send important notices (service updates, security alerts). You can control marketing notifications in settings.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or violations of our Safety Guidelines.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Sharing of information

  • With other users: your profile, name, photos, and content you choose to share (e.g., messages) are visible according to in‑app settings.
  • Service providers: hosting (e.g., Firebase), analytics, messaging, payments (e.g., Stripe, Apple/Google), content delivery, and customer support tools under contracts and data protection safeguards.
  • Legal: to comply with law, respond to legal process, or protect rights, safety, and property.
  • Business transfers: as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale, in line with applicable law.

Data retention

We retain data only as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data subject to legal retention requirements and our fraud‑prevention needs.

Your choices and rights

  • Access, correction, deletion: You can access and edit your profile in‑app or by emailing hello@nexauva.com. You may request account/data deletion the same way.
  • Location: You can disable location permissions in your device settings, noting some features may not work.
  • Notifications: Control push notifications in system or app settings.
  • EU/UK users: Legal bases include consent (where required), contract, legitimate interests (e.g., service improvement and safety), and legal obligation. You may have rights to object or restrict processing, and to data portability.
  • California residents: We do not sell your personal information. You have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt‑out of certain sharing as defined by CCPA/CPRA.

Children

PlaceSnap is for adults 13+. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child is using the Service, contact us and we will take appropriate action.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect data, but no system is 100% secure. Keep your account credentials private and report suspected misuse.

International transfers

Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross‑border transfers.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, by additional notice in the app or by email.
